Beaumont's Chef George Morris to Swap San Diego for New Arizona Gig

Another talented chef says so long.

Eater's hearing that George Morristhe executive chef at Beaumont's Eatery in Bird Rock, is decamping for Arizona.

Morris finishes his tour in Beaumont's kitchen this week and will join Paul McCabe, a longtime local chef who traded San Diego for Phoenix when he left to oversee the revitalization of Royal Palms Resort and Spa's signature restaurant, T. Cook's.

McCabe is executive chef of the property, and told Eater that he's been looking for a capable chef de cuisine to pass the T. Cook's baton on to; he says that Morris, a grad of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York who has worked at well-respected spots from Chicago to New York and Colorado, will help with menu development and pushing the restaurant forward.

Morris, who had been looking for new opportunities, shared that he's excited to be working with McCabe, a chef that he says he has "a tremendous amount or respect and admiration for".
