The Union-Tribune has a new Dining Guide out, which names the paper's restaurant and chef of the year. Juniper & Ivy got the nod for restaurant of the year, thanks to chef Richard Blais' "audacious need to experiment", and Addison at The Grand Del Mar's William Bradley is their chosen chef. Little Italy, home to Juniper & Ivy and the site of future restaurants from chef Javier Plascencia and Brian Malarkey, was hailed as 2014's culinary hotspot.
