Culture Brewing Co., which broke onto the local craft beer scene in early 2013 with their Solana Beach brewery, is headed south, where they will open a satellite tasting room in Ocean Beach.
Landing on Newport Avenue, one of the neighborhood's main thoroughfares, Culture Brewing Co. will occupy a 1,600-square-foot storefront adjacent to the newly-opened OB Warehouse.
Carole Busby, marketing manager for the brewery, says that they plan to be open in time for San Diego Beer Week in early November. The new tasting room will look similar to their North County space, with roll up doors and a rustic, urban design, and there will be at least 20 taps with 10 to 15 beer styles represented. Though no beer will be brewed on site, Culture is putting a cold box and bright tanks into the space and will transport beer down from their South Cedros Avenue production facility.
This expansion will require the brewery to double their beer output and Busby told Eater that plans are in the works to increase brewing capacity.
The tasting room in Ocean Beach will be open daily, with hours TBD, and, like in Solana Beach, will feature rotating food trucks and monthly art gallery pop-ups.
