La Jolla's nine-year-old Regents Pizzeria will relocate later this year, but it's not going far — the new spot will be located right across the parking lot from the existing restaurant.
The New York- and Chicago-style pizzas that Regents has become known for will stay the same, but with the bigger space will come increased capacity: The new restaurant will have 32 beer taps (as opposed to eight in the current location) and eight pizza ovens instead of three, as well as a large outdoor beer garden.
As part of its effort to become "one of the premier craft beer locales in San Diego," all beer servers at the new Regents will be cicerone-certified. Regents will also be partnering with local company Venissimo Cheese to feature daily special pies made with their cheese offerings, as well as a Venissimo cheese plate. Stay tuned for a projected opening date on the new Regents location.
