Ballast Point's Jaw-Dropping New Tasting Room Debuts in Miramar

Inside this new beer destination.

Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits solidifies its big-time status with a seriously stunning new tasting room that debuts today at their 100,000-square-foot production brewery in Miramar. Open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, the tasting room's bar has 78 taps to fuel a soaring 600-seat space that includes bar and communal seating, a lounge, private dining rooms, patio and a full-service restaurant; tours of the facility are available daily at noon, 3 and 6 p.m.

Though the public spaces are complete, Ballast Point's kitchen won't be up and running for another month or so; the menu will be partially based on the offerings at their eatery in Little Italy, but expand to include more entrees, flatbreads and shareable plates. Until the restaurant opens, the brewery will host food trucks and vendors from noon to 6 p.m. daily.

The new merch store includes 11-taps for growler fills of their eight core beers and a few rotating specials. Outside, a large shaded deck holds more seating and a 37-tap bar.

Later this month, Ballast Point will reveal their newly-expanded tasting room at Home Brew Mart; the company is also planning for remodel of their Little Italy location, which will include a redesign of the outdoor patio.
