MIRA MESA— James Beard award winner and author Alexander Lobrano will be in town this Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m. for a book signing of his Hungry for France and a Q&A at The Wine Sellar & Brasserie; the $45 registration includes a French-themed wine pairing. GASLAMP— The Oceanaire has a new not-so-secret off-menu item. Available for a limited time are classic lobster and crab rolls, New England-style split-top buns filled with a mix of lobster and crab meat that's tossed with celery, onion, mayonnaise, chives, tarragon and Old Bay. [EaterWire]

HILLCREST— A tipster alerted us to a new outpost of Trinitea & Co. headed to Hillcrest at 3865 5th Avenue. A branch of the Chinese tea house opened in San Carlos late last year, serving boba milk tea, fruit tea and smoothies. The new location should open by December. [EaterWire]
