PACIFIC BEACH— Sdnews.com has background on the shutter of Nick's on the Beach in PB, which is currently being remodeled into another outpost of The Local and due to reopen in June. The bi-level space will feature Asian-inspired food, live music and an expanded patio space. PACIFIC BEACH— Karl Strauss Brewing Company is celebrating a quarter century in beer with a grand version of their annual "Changing of the Barrels" event. On Saturday, February 8 from 6 to 9 p.m., their main tasting room will be awash in beer, with 20 taps to drink through, plus brewery tours, food, live music.
