After three and a half years at A.R. Valentien and The Lodge at Torrey Pines as their executive pastry chef, Jennifer Costa is moving on and changing cities.
Costa, an alum of Healdsburg's Cyrus Restaurant and the Vegas edition of Restaurant Guy Savoy, is heading to Washington, D.C. The dessert whiz is joining the Starr Restaurants group, which operates 30 restaurants in the nation including Morimoto and Buddakan in NYC and Philadelphia.
Costa will be the new executive pastry chef at Starr Restaurants' D.C holding, a French bistro called Le Diplomate. Stepping into her shoes in San Diego assistant pastry chef Elena Palma, who has been with The Lodge for three years and previously trained with CUCINA urbana's pastry guru Jack Fisher.
