By early October, the South Park end of 30th Street should be welcoming a new Belgian beer bar and eatery, Brabant Bar & Café.
Its proprietor, Adam Parker, is the former general manager of K 'n B Wine Cellars. He and his partners, who include Keg-N-Bottle liquor stores' owner Tony Konja, should be taking over the space, which currently houses the soon-to-depart Vagabond, in the next couple of weeks; they plan to create seating nooks, install new booths and build a Belgian-style back bar.
Former K n' B chef Kevin Lissy (Hexagone, Cosmopolitan) will be helping to execute the Belgian cuisine, which will include mussels and braised rabbit.
The beer taps will be stocked with favorites and lesser seen beers from Belgium and Belgian-style beers curated from local breweries. Cocktails will continue Brabant's theme, incorporating Belgian-made liqueurs like the tangerine and cognac Mandarine Napoleon.
