Eater just checked in on the progress of Puesto's new downtown restaurant at The Headquarters, one of your most anticipated fall openings. Their go-to artist, well-known graffitist Chor Boogie, was in the midst of complete two original murals, both painted on large-scale custom metal designs by Basile Studio.
Puesto owner Eric Adler is currently juggling two construction sites; besides downtown, they're opening a 1,000-square-foot bar and lounge, called Puesto Bar/Living that's meant to build a bridge between their casual La Jolla street food eatery and their new downtown digs.
Puesto at The Headquarters is scheduled to open, along with the other restaurant tenants, officially on November 17. When it does, the 4,500-square-feet space will have multiple outdoor patios and a few distinct dining areas. An informal eating area, with communal seating, will house their signature taco bar and a full cocktail bar with 18 beer taps; on the mezzanine and in the main dining room, designer Thomas Schoos is creating more intimate, upscale seating areas. The menu's still coming together, but expect snackable antojitos, ceviche and other shared plates.
