Pulled pork lovers who were hoping for a summer opening from ACME Kitchen & Bar will be waiting a while longer.
Owner Terryl Gavre won't be debuting her
Southern-style downtown eatery until later this fall; the newly projected opening is the last week of October.
ACME was slated to launch in May, but Gavre needed to get another project off her plate.
"I have been waiting to get the Bankers Hill Bar opened up down at the airport first," she said, referring to the construction delay-plagued counterpart to her popular Bankers Hill restaurant, "I didn't want to get ACME opened and then have to leave it for a month to launch the BH airport [spot]."
She now has a solid new opening date for Bankers Hill Restaurant + Bar's airport locale in Terminal 2: September 29.
In the meantime, while wearing her ACME Kitchen & Bar hat, she's perfecting her recipe for shrimp and grits with tasso gravy and canning lots of green tomato and jalapeno jam, a house made condiment that'll soon be slathered on their biscuits or cornbread.
