CAXAO Artisan Chocolates, which got its start at San Diego farmer's markets, is going brick-and-mortar. CAXAO's chocolatier and founder, Beatriz Ledezma, announced on Facebook that the company is opening a café and retail shop at Fir and India in Little Italy.
Ledezma tells Eater that CAXAO Artisan Chocolates, Café and Tea Shop will have seating at a bar inside, plus on two outdoor patios; she plans to serve coffee from local roaster Cafe Virtuoso, whose organic espresso flavors her Espresso Sea Salt Caramel. A friend, pastry chef James Foran (MARKET), is helping to source locally-made pastries.
CAXAO Artisan Chocolates, Café and Tea Shop should open the second or third week of September.
