Convoy's New Szechuan; Grant Grill Lounge Adds Dishes; Vagabond Kitchen Farewell

DOWNTOWN— The U.S. Grant's Grant Grill Lounge is introducing some new menu items, including fried chicken with herb gravy on a cheddar biscuit and a Korean-inspired curry pork stew with kimchi. A crispy duck egg, served with charred onions, rice and pancetta, gets a table-side pouring of boullion and is half price during their Sunday to Thursday (4 to 7 p.m.) happy hour, when house wine and select beer is $6. SOUTH PARK— The San Diego Reader's Ed Bedford says goodbye to Vagabond Kitchen, which closes for good on August 31 to make way for the space's new owners, who'll turn it into a Belgian beer and food spot called Brabant Bar & Café. [SDReader]
