Tipping Backlash

New, 9 comments

Jay Porter, former owner of The Linkery, has been reflecting on his personal blog about the restaurant's decision to institute an automatic 18% service fee; his latest post is entitled "Why Tipping Should (And May) Be Made Illegal." Porter recently authored a piece on Quartz where he writes that after the change, "our service improved, our revenue went up, and both our business and our employees made more money." Eater National has more on the momentum of the backlash against tipping; weigh in with your thoughts here. [~EN~]
