New Chinese on Convoy, Salt & Cleaver Enlarges Sausages; Friday Beer Tasting in Escondido

New, 1 comment

KEARNY MESA— Looks like that new spicy Chinese restaurant we told you about has a name. Fu An Garden will reportedly open in three to four weeks. The owners have already installed a counter for Szechuan appetizers and we're hearing the outdoor patio will be upgraded after the eatery is up and running. [EaterWire]

HILLCRESTSalt & Cleaver first debuted in May but the Hillcrest eatery is now celebrating their grand opening with new menu changes and nightly specials; the kitchen is now making more than half of its sausages in-house, including the rib eye sausage with goat cheese and Brussels sprouts. They've expanded the size of their links and are now exclusively using Sadie Rose Baking Co. buns. Tonight's special deal is their house made pork belly sausage paired with a bottled beer or lavender-chamomile gin infusion for $12. [EaterWire]

ESCONDIDO— The great wine, beer and spirits store, Holiday Wine Cellar, is hosting a beer tasting on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. This edition of their $5 Friday Night Flights features Temecula's Black Market Brewing Company, who won gold for their Rye IPA at the 2012 GABF. [EaterWire]
