LITTLE ITALY— After nearly two decades, Indigo Grill is getting a new lease on life. San Diego Magazine shares news that the Cohn Restaurant Group and chef/partner Deborah Scott will close the India Street eatery later this year for a redesign. They've enlisted a familiar name, Jason Maitland (Arterra, Flavor Del Mar), as the new head of the kitchen who'll be charged with updating the menu. The cuisine's "Native American and Latin focus" will stay. [SDMag]

CARLSBAD— A popular LA and Orange County-based eatery is headed our way; according to Patch, Veggie Grill has leased a site at 965 Palomar Airport Road near Costco. Veggie Grill's menu includes salads, soups and veggie "meat"-based sandwiches, tacos and wraps. [Patch]

DOWNTOWN— If you prefer your sake or spirits dropped into a pint of beer, RA Sushihttp://www.rasushi.com/san-diego has a new menu of cocktail "bombs" for your drinking pleasure. There's the Fugi Bomb that pairs Japanese lager with apple sake or the Chocolate Cherry Bomb which combines cherry vodka, chocolate liqueur and stout beer. [EaterWire]
