Eater donned a hard hat to check in on progress at The Headquarters at Seaport District, Terramar Retail Centers' new downtown dining and shopping mega-complex in the old San Diego Police Department's headquarters.
The building has been repainted, a tree and fountain added, and its core restaurant tenants — Pizzeria Mozza, Puesto, Eddie V's, Seasons 52 and The Cheesecake Factory — are all moving along with their build outs. The eateries are expected to be complete by October, with a grand opening for The Headquarters tentatively set for November 17.
We're hearing that a 2,500-square-foot space may be designated for one more new restaurant concept and a few food retailers (cheese, chocolate, gelato and coffee) may sign leases soon.
The most anticipated opening is undoubtedly Pizzeria Mozza; the menu will be similar to their LA and Newport Beach outposts, but a rep told Eater that they're "investing into a draught system" that'll be unique to San Diego, to give this new location an emphasis on local craft beer.
