Before he hunkers down on the new restaurant, Hunter's headed to San Diego next month to cook a one-night-only dinner on Sunday, August 4 in collaboration with Steven Molina, chef de cuisine at Rancho Santa Fe's Delicias Restaurant.
Hunter lived in San Diego for three years, and he and Molina worked together at Del Mar's Kitchen 1540 under chef Paul McCabe; he told Eater that he's excited to come back to town for the "amazing product and spectacular farms in San Diego."
The August 4 pop-up at Delicias will feature a nine course tasting menu, plus snacks and include spot prawns and bone marrow among its dishes. The dinner is $90 with an optional $40 wine pairing and there are three seatings (7:00, 7:15, and 7:30 p.m.) for the evening; call (858) 756-8000 for reservations.
