Here's your first look at the tapas menu debuting today at Iberico Spanish Bistro, the new restaurant with patio that replaces Vigiluccli's upper level perch overlooking Prospect Street.
Calling itself "San Diego's First Specialty Gin Bar", Iberico transplants a concept from NYC and Spain to La Jolla; the libations list includes an assortment of premium gins to sip straight or in a cocktail, plus sherry and red, white and sparking wine.
Owner Juan Carlos Gomez has a popular Mexican restaurant in Old Town called El Agave; on Iberico's menu, he offers 20+ Spanish tapas that range from the prerequisite Iberico ham to codfish-stuffed piquillo peppers, calamari cooked in its own ink and fresh anchovies with almonds and pine nuts.
