Priority Public House's owner, first time proprietor Brian McBride had a clear vision, to give North County a craft beer and cocktail-focused watering hole that'd fit in equally well in Little Italy or North Park, inspired by his favorites spots in Chicago and NYC. Oh, and it also had to be located on Highway 101 between Solana Beach and Leucadia.

Mission accomplished; McBride's brand new 66-seat gastropub officially launches today after a short soft open period, in the Leucadia cottage vacated by Calypso Cafe.

Their taps includes 22 dedicated to craft beer, including locals like AleSmith, Acoustic Ales, Lattitude 33 and Port Brewing, and two draft wines. Blind Tiger Cocktail Co. consulted on a specialty cocktail list; the bar also stocks a variety of small batch and esoteric spirits. The lunch and dinner menu is overseen by chef Mark Dowen, most recently of The Vine Cottage in La Mesa, with a priority given to sustainable ingredients, including grass fed beef and local produce. Menu highlights include sauteed calamari, a burger stuffed with roasted jalapeno and local halibut in a lemongrass broth.
