Stehly Farms Organics, a large family-owned farm in Valley Center whose produce is available at shops and farmer's markets throughout Southern California, is opening their own local produce market on Morena Boulevard this Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Stehly brothers, third-generation California farmers, will be selling the avocado and citrus grown on their 300-acre farm, as well as produce from other San Diego farms including Suzie's Farm and Be Wise Ranch.

The shop will also carry locally made artisan food products, from cheese and jam to pasta and bread. The brothers live in the Bay Park area, and saw the need for a full-time local market in the neighborhood; they'll be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Jerome Stehly told Eater that there's room to enlarge the store and perhaps expand their offering to cooking and prepared foods.
