Ethnic Food Fair; I Love Poke Fest; Movie Night @ The Public Market

BALBOA PARK— Spend your Sunday on a leisurely nosh though Balboa Park's International Cottages. The 33rd Annual Ethnic Food Fair starts at 10 a.m. on May 26 and runs until 5 p.m.; for a small fee, sample dishes from over 30 different food cultures [EaterWire]

SHELTER ISLAND— The 4th annual I Love Poke Festival hits the Bali Hai on Wednesday, May 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. Chefs will compete for the "Best Poke" title by using all sustainable seafood; contestants including Gaijin's Antonio Friscia, Burlap's Anthony Sinsay and Ricardo Heredia from Alchemy. The $55 ticket includes samples of Hawaiian and Asian-inspired food from Carlsbad Aquafarms, Chamorro Grill, Barrio Star and more. [EaterWire]

BARRIO LOGAN— The San Diego Public Market is launching a new series of movie screenings called REEL LIFE, kicking off with a showing of the awesome film, "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", on Friday, May 31.
