A new owner has purchased the former Red Circle nightclub at 420 E Street and plans to reopen this summer after an extensive remodel.

Bayless Cobb, CEO of King Diamond, Inc. tells Eater that he's putting together a "dream team" of collaborators to help transform the 5,000-square-foot space to a stylish, full service restaurant and high end nightclub.

Cobb is still evaluating restaurant partners for his yet-unnamed project, but he's already signed up the duo behind Davis Ink (FLUXX, Stingaree, Sidebar) to design the venue.

He says that he's looking forward to working with the city to host events in conjunction with Horton Plaza's new park, and hopes that his corner of 4th and E will become the new "center of the Gaslamp".
