The Gaslamp is getting a new 10,000-square-foot hangout where sushi and sake lovers can go to eat, drink and play, provided you enjoy a sports bar atmosphere and per the business' website, "vivacious, eye-catching schoolgirl-clad" girls.

Tokyo Playground will fill the two-story downtown space left by two recent shutters, The Propagandist and George's on Fifth, at 835 5th Avenue.

Owners Carlos Bradley and Sean Kattner just opened a Tokyo Playground in San Francisco's East Bay; San Diego's version will have an upstairs sushi restaurant and a downstairs dance club. The menu includes sushi and Asian fusion food (with rolls named after Charlie Sheen, George Clooney and Johnny Depp) and traditional American sports bar bites.

Tom Funke, owner of the building, told Eater that he anticipates a September opening.
