Opening in the former Bandar Restaurant space (which moved a few doors down to 845 4th Ave.) is Allure Restaurant. Set to launch in two months, the 2,300-square-foot restaurant will seat 48 inside and 14 on a sidewalk patio.
The daughter of the owners, a San Diego Culinary School-grad, will oversee a "global fusion" menu; sample starters include pork belly with compressed apples, bone marrow and watercress and lamb-stuffed squash blossoms. Entrees range from a hanger steak with chimichurri to a pork chop accompanied by peaches, mustard greens and jalapeno cornbread.
Moment Design Studio is helping to transform the interior with chandeliers, natural lighting, brick and wood. Allure will be open daily, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
