Leucadia's new urban winery and restaurant, Solterra Winery & Kitchen is scheduled to grand open on Saturday.
Designed by Del Mar's Brian Church Architecture, the space includes a tasting room, outdoor seating, a grapevine-adjacent bocce ball court and a fully-functioning winemaking facility.
Owner and winemaker Christopher Van Alyea is pouring over 20 in-house wine varietals and local craft beer to go along with their Mediterranean tapas menu.
Solterra Winery & Kitchen's 3,000-square-foot concrete and wood barrel room houses the working winery — fermentation tanks, crusher and a press — in addition to over 300 barrels of aging wine; their namesake reds are made from grapes sourced in Southern California and Baja. Current operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 7 p.m.
