Red Light District Dining Room & Social House, which once occupied the corner of 4th and F Streets downtown , is getting a new lease on life.
ASAN Restaurant Concepts has been deliberating about what to put in the historic Gaslamp Quarter building since they closed up shop at Red Light District last fall.
The owners, who also run the adjacent Cafe Lulu and bite, a Mediterranean eatery, have just announced their new concept for the space, ViVa bar + kitchen.
Calling itself a "Latin Fusion destination", ViVa bar + kitchen's menu will highlight and blend cuisines from an array of Latin cultures, including Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Peru, combining seasonal and local ingredients with traditional cooking preparations. The dishes will be offered small plate-style and the bar plans to focus on hand-crafted cocktails.
ASAN Restaurant Concepts expects to open ViVa bar + kitchen in June.
