More Details Released For Southpaw Social Club

New, 1 comment

Here's what we know so far about Southpaw Social Club, the latest spot to be added to Good Time Design's growing East Village food and beverage all-star lineup.

It'll be a "Southern barrelhouse-influenced watering hole and eatery" that will pay homage to the barnstorming baseball days of yore through its design and cuisine, which will reflect American regional specialties (more on the food and news of an exciting chef hire coming soon).

In preparation for Southpaw Social Club's summer opening , Good Time Design is building out the space with distressed barn timber, industrial aged steel and historical bricks. And it looks like El Vitral's pre-shutter permit to add outdoor dining and live entertainment will be seen through by Southpaw; there are plans in the works for an expansive front patio on J Street, an indoor/outdoor bar and a back patio that looks into Petco Park's left field. While the front portion will be food-focused (offering lunch and dinner), the rest of the space will revolve around the bar, which will feature 36 taps of regional craft beer and craft cocktails; entertainment will come in the form of live music.
