Downtown's Sora Restaurant has pulled the plug on its Italian-Japanese concept and is closed temporarily for a quick redesign of their 8,000-square-feet of dining space and a thorough menu change; a rep for the eatery, which opened last summer, says that Sora should reopen in two to three weeks.

Sora will jettison its "Milano-Toyko influenced" menu, which offered everything from risotto and pizza to sushi and sashimi; instead, the new restaurant will focus on "modern Italian food".

A tipster tells us that the owner will be modeling the reboot after The Meatball Spot in Las Vegas, whose menu also features salads, pizzas and a gelato bar serving ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes.
