Guy Fieri, the love him or hate him host of the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" arrived in San Diego last night after a day of filming in Los Angeles and headed to Gaijin Noodle + Sake House for a nosh with an entourage that included the owners of two local spots that have appeared on Fieri's show — Mike Hardin of Hodad's and Pizzeria Luigi's Luigi Agostini.
Fieri schmoozed with Gaijin's chef/partner Antonio Friscia and sous chef Fern Tran, and was reportedly impressed with the restaurant's custom-made yakitori grill and their use of imported Japanese charcoal; the group sampled the Seven Samurai, a variety of Gaijin's most popular skewers, plus papaya salad, drunken noodles and an off menu treat, sea bream with Thai curry sauce.
As reported, Fieri's in town to film at a few San Diego eateries for his "Triple D" series; we hear they'll definitely be shooting at Hillcrest's Crest Cafe today. Get wind of where else Fieri's planning on popping up? Let us know.
