Rodriguez is a big deal in the local wine community; his list for Addison made Food & Wine's Best New Wine List and won Wine Spectator Grand Award; he's also been named Star Chefs' Best New Sommelier in CA and nominated for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service.
The accomplished sommelier leaves The Grand after seven years there; he is pursuing other projects as well preparing for the Master Sommelier Examination. The Grand Del Mar is currently conducting a nationwide search for his replacement.
