The Propagandist, the Gaslamp's rebellious craft cocktail bar with a playful "downtown sucks" campaign, got bad news right before its first birthday: it has to relocate, thanks to a landlord-related issue causing its sublease to terminate 14 months early. Hidden below George's on Fifth(835 5th Ave), the self-described town hall is recognizable by its thumbs-down to downtown posters lining its stairs and peculiar church pews to watch indie bands from. The good news: they promise to reopen in a few months, location TBA, with more food and draft beer options. In the meantime, the bar's going out with a bang with a series of events this week that will culminate in a one-year anniversary celebration this Saturday night. [Facebook] -Tierney Plumb
