Saltbox Bar Showdown; Whole Foods Opens 7th Ave Pub

LA JOLLA— If there's a flick you've been wanting to see, get over to ArcLight Cinemas for a beer tasting event featuring a flight or a pint of Hangar 24 beers, including their Orange Wheat, Columbus IPA, California Spring Beer and Chocolate Porter. DOWNTOWN— Saltbox is starting a series of monthly Monday night bartender showdowns, called the Shake-Off. The first battle, scheduled for March 25 from 6 to 9 p.m., pits bartenders from Saltbox, Cusp, The Lion's Share, Prohibition and Prepkitchen against each other in a cocktail competition featuring Bulleit Whiskey and George Dickel Whisky. The winning cocktail will be featured on the Saltbox bar menu each month and there will be happy hour drink and food specials offered to spectators. [EaterWire]
