More details are emerging about Pizzaria Mozza's move into San Diego, where the restaurant will take up residence in downtown's former Police Department headquarters, now dubbed "The Headquarters at Seaport District". The 160-seat restaurant from Mario Batali, Nancy Silverton and Joe Bastianich is projected to open by September or October, and as reported, La Jolla's Puesto is also taking a spot, along with likely tenants Seasons 52, Eddie V's and The Cheesecake Factory. The developers are putting $40 million dollars into building out the 100,000-square-foot dining and shopping destination but preserving many original details, including eight jail cells where people can pose for photos.
