Waters Fine Foods Downtown; Oceanside Pizza

DOWNTOWN— Waters Fine Foods & Catering has announced an early spring opening for their third gourmet food café, which will combine to-go food service and daily, full-service lunch. The new location, at 555 West C Street and Columbia, which features indoor and outdoor seating, joins Waters Fine Foods' other cafés in Bay Park and Morena. [EaterWire]

OCEANSIDE— A tipster clued us in to the impending opening of Pizzeria Venti Wine Bar and Grill (215 N Coast Hwy), which has locations throughout the country. This local outpost will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner; besides pizza, there's pasta, panini, salads, wine and 20 beers on tap. And the pizza comes two ways, by the thick, rectangular slice (pizza al taglio) or as a thinner 14" round Napoletana-style pie. [EaterWire]

MIRA MESA— Green Flash Brewing Company is kicking off their new Hop Odessey series with an event for the first of six hop-centric, draft-only beer releases on Tuesday, February 12. From 3 to 8 p.m., stop into the brewery's tasting room and sample their Black IPA alongside some locally-made butter toffee from Sweetbricks.
