Eater's gotten you past the door, now take a peek at what the bartenders will be mixing up behind the bar at East Village's new Cat Eye Club.

The cocktail are traditional recipes, some dating back more than a century, like 1892's Whiskey Smash; The Last Word, a well-balanced blend of gin, green chartreuse, cherry liqueur and lime, was first poured in the 1940's. Cat Eye's bartenders will have these timeless drinks down pat, but also be able to riff on them according to the drinker's whim; the list's curator, Adam Stemmler of Blind Tiger Cocktail Co. will occasionally take a shift at the bar.

The just-opened bar is currently running Thursday through Saturday nights, but its managing partner, Frank Miller, told Eater that towards the end of March, he plans to add a throwback Tiki Drink Night on Wednesdays, complete with flaming Scorpion Bowls.
