Chef Wade Hageman and his wife Kristi, who own and operate North County's Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria and The Craftsman New American Tavern, have officially announced their third food endeavor, a new restaurant with a projected summer opening, dubbed the Blue Ribbon Rustic Kitchen; it'll occupy the former site of an Ethiopian restaurant in Hillcrest.
In a statement that came in through the tipline, the chef explained that the Hillcrest eatery will not serve pizza, but will carry on his restaurants' farm-to-table approach with handmade pastas, sustainable meat and seafood.
At the helm in the kitchen will be Marlaw Seraspi, who will be transferring from his post at The Craftsman; Seraspi worked as a sous chef during Hageman's residence at Blanca in Solana Beach.
