The U-T takes its first bites of The Patio on Lamont, which opened in Pacific Beach last November. Keli Dailey praises the restaurant's layout and decor, calling it "visually striking", but wonders if it might "over-rely on good looks rather than kitchen and cocktail genius". The bacon risotto paired with a braised pork shank had the texture of "gloopy rice pudding" and Dailey mentions that of the signature cocktails tasted like "hot Sriracha in blood orange juice". The review also notes that The Patio is a very dog-friendly eatery; their Facebook page has photos of all the dogs who've dined there. [U-T]
