An excited tipster sent in a photo and a head's up on a new North County brewery, so Eater followed up and headed to Solana Beach to check out Culture Brewing Co., whose tasting room is scheduled to open this week.
Located just a few doors north of the Belly Up Tavern, set into a 1,400 square foot storefront along the Cedros Avenue Design District, the brewery is a passion project that's two years in the making for three partners, including neighborhood resident Dennis Williams and friend Steve Ragan. Ragan, a longtime home brewer, will serve as head brewer and plans to focus on brewing ales on their 10 barrel system. The core line-up, excluding seasonals, will include a Pale Ale, an Amarillo and Simcoe-hopped IPA, a Black IPA, Imperial Stout, Blonde, Amber and Brown Ale, although just three (the Pale Ale, Amber and Imperial Stout) will be pouring initially in the tasting room's 12-tap bar.
Once doors open, they'll be pouring Wednesday through Sunday, offering small and pint-sized tasters, plus growlers and kegs to-go.
