La Jollans, steel yourselves for long lines at breakfast; Chowhound says that another outpost of Richard Walker's Pancake House is planned for the neighborhood, in a Prospect Street spot that's seen a fair amount of turnover; most recently, it was occupied by Forever Fondue until that shuttered in October.
The Midwest chain opened its first San Diego location in downtown's Marina District in 2006. Richard Walker's specializes in frisbee-esque pancakes, waffles and other breakfast-y items; signatures include their pan-sized, oven-baked pancakes, from The Dutch Baby to the apple pancake.
A rep for Richard Walker's said that the La Jolla pancake house should be open by early June.
