MISSION BAY— Have a waterside Christmas dinner at Paradise Point's Baleen, where chef Amy DiBiase has put together a surf and turf three course prix-fixe that includes chilled lobster salad, bourbon-brined pheasant and braised lamb. NATIONAL CITY— Cool news for National City; it's getting the newly-revamped, 5,500-square-foot Big Ben Specialty Market(108 E 8th St. ) that'll focus on fresh food and locally-grown produce. San Diego Mag says it will also house an open-air eatery and exhibition kitchen called Grill House at Big Ben that'll serve house-smoked meats and more. OCEANSIDENorth County Food spied a notice at months-old Pizza Venti at 215 N. Coast Hwy. It'll soon switcheroo into Murphy's Law Irish Pub and Ale House, a new outpost from an Arizona-based pub. This location should open early next year. [NorthCountyFood]
