Kitchen 4140 is Back; New Sushi; Tacos in La Jolla

CLAIREMONT— Some good news via the tipline; after a temporary shutter, Kitchen 4140 confirmed that they will reopen on Wednesday, November 13. Going forward, their operating hours will be lunch from Tuesday to Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner Wednesday to Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m., with brunch on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; owner Kurt Metzger also runs a catering company, Concept Catering by CK. ROLONDO— An Eater reader wrote in to update us on the very tasty Sang Dao (5421 El Cajon Blvd.), which serves both Laotian and Thai dishes. The reader reports that the eatery has recently expanded, doubling the size of the space, and is now offering sushi. [EaterWire]

LA JOLLA— There a new taco shop that promises to make its tortillas by hand; The Taco Stand is coming to 621 Pearl St., according to La Jolla Patch. [Patch]
