Eater readers asked us to investigate what would replace Tiki Taka Grill, which recently closed in Hillcrest, and we bring good news.
Oscar's Mexican Seafood is taking over the space and plans to open in a month. With this new eatery, owner Juan Bernardo told Eater that he's taking this opportunity to design a new look for Oscar's, one that he says better fits the quality of their food. Expect a modern seafood shack; a stylish but still casual environment, with lots of wood and unique light fixtures.
Once Hillcrest is up and running, Bernardo will turn his attention to his two Pacific Beach locations and give them a makeover. He was operating an Oscar's outpost on Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach, but recently closed it to focus on current projects.
