Eater's Restaurant of the Year, Carnitas' Snack Shack, is poised to have an epic 2014.
The insanely popular eatery is gearing up for some serious expansion, working in tandem with Sweet 100, a restaurant investment company that's supported the growth of concepts including Burger Lounge and CUCINA enoteca.
A second, larger restaurant north of Carnitas' Snack Shack's original North Park spot has been confirmed, and it should open in the first quarter of 2014. Chef/owner Hanis Cavin and partner Sara Stroud are also negotiating deals for several other locations.
And starting on January 7, they'll expand their hours of operation to be open all week, from noon to midnight daily.
Their signature "Shack Burger" got the attention of Shake Shack founder and NYC restaurateur Danny Meyer, who sent over a cease and desist letter; it's now called the SnackShack Burger, and the restaurant is currently trademarking some of their other menu items.
