Games! Games! Games! Coin-Op Bar Stocks Its Arcade

Coin-Op Game Room, the new arcade bar from the proprietors of The Lion's Share, is inching closer to opening. The games are in, and if you're of a certain age the list will read like a nostalgic incantation; Centipede, Gauntlet, Space Invaders, Pacman, Frogger, Golden Tee, Street Fighter and more, even two pinball machines, line the walls of the bar.

If you remember what Hubcap/El Take It Easy looked like, the booths have been removed and the zig-zag bar swapped for a streamlined bar that stretches along the left side of the space; a 20 tap beer system is also new.

A counter for bar stools runs down the middle of the room; there will eventually be seating for 30 to 40 people. Owner Has Mahmood is also building out the back patio to hold a few more game machines.

If you're headed out for the Taste of North Park this Saturday, Coin-Op will be hosting a beer tasting with Temecula's Ironfire Brewery, out on the front patio, and they might wheel a few of the games up to the new garage doors just so you can get a preview of the playtime to come.
