Brewmaster Brunch; Hess Beer Dinner; Halloween Pop-Up

PACIFIC BEACH— This Friday, Karl Strauss Brewing Company is kicking off their San Diego Beer Week with a Brewmaster's Brunch that'll be held at their main tasting room. MIHO Gastrotruck put together the seven course menu, which includes the newly re-released Peanut Butter Cup Porter with chocolate beignets and the brewery's Tower 20 Double IPA paired with a local spiny lobster tamalito. MISSION BAY— Chef Amy DiBiase (read her Eater Interview here) is getting in on the Beer Week action with a beer pairing dinner at Baleen in Paradise Point, scheduled for Thursday, November 7 in collaboration with Hess Brewing. Mike Hess will be on hand to lead the $59, six-course pairing dinner which starts at 6:30 p.m. and includes venison carpaccio, ricotta gnudi and hazelnut brown butter cake. Call 858-274-4630. GASLAMP— Still need Halloween plans? How about a cocktail-paired dinner with Plancha Baja Med? Chad White is bringing his pop-up to downtown's Frauds & Swindlers this Thursday at 7 p.m. The four-course menu includes oyster-coconut cream soup, ash-cured pork belly and Fernet panna cotta.
