Italian Market Closes But Will Be Reborn As Restaurant

New, 2 comments

Chowhound has been buzzing about the possible shutter of Ariccia Italian Market, and a poster confirmed yesterday that the space has been emptied.

Owner Robert Pascucci, who opened the market in La Jolla last June, told Eater that he is now focusing on launching a restaurant project that will have a "strong cocktail and wine program". Pascucci is looking for a new location in all areas of San Diego, but particularly within the neighborhoods of North Park, the East Village and North County.

The market's food offerings included fresh pasta, cured meat and cheese and a beloved porchetta sandwich; Pascucci says that his new restaurant's menu will also be Italian-focused.
