Strange Brew Screening; PB Cafe Switcheroo; Farm Fiesta

POINT LOMA— Hey there hosers, as part of their Beer Week line-up, The Pearl Hotel is teaming up with Modern Times Beer for a Dive-In Theatre screening of the Canadian cult classic, Strange Brew, on Monday, November 4 at 8 p.m. Watching the movie is free, but the restaurant's offering burger and beer pairings and a combo deal that includes a pint and a limited edition hoodie for $25. Four of Modern Times' brews will be on tap; look out for Southern Lands, a 100% Brett IPA and their wet hop IPA called Orderville. Reservations are suggested; call 619-226-6100. [EaterWire]

PACIFIC BEACH— Cafe Mono (3833 Mission Blvd.) just rebranded itself as The Swell Café. Open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, the coffee house has a new expanded menu that includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. [EaterWire]

IMPERIAL BEACH— Can't make it down to the Baja California Culinary Fest? Some of fest's participating chefs are cooking up a food fiesta at Suzie's Farm on Saturday, November 2 as part of a Dia De Los Muertos celebration. Ticket sales benefit two local non-profits, the Front Burner Fund and Kitchen Commandos, and encompass drinks (wine and craft beer from Baja) and food from scheduled-to-participate chefs including Javier Plascencia and Isabel Cruz.
