Two Screening Parties Tonight; El Dorado Turns 5; El Charco Remodel?

SOUTH PARK/NORTH PARK— Two screening parties are scheduled for tonight's airing of the Chuck's Eat the Street episode featuring San Diego's own 30th Street. At 7 p.m. at Alchemy, join fellow featured players from the Roast Coach and Seeds@City College for $1 oysters, half-off fried pickles and cheddar biscuits. Up at Bar Pink (3829 30th St.), Urban Solace's Matt Gordon is hosting a viewing party starting at 6:30 p.m.; there will be free bites from the restaurant and a cash bar. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWNEl Dorado is celebrating its fifth birthday on Tuesday, November 5 by reuniting its four founders behind the bar for the first time since the bar's opening year. A special menu of their top six cocktails since launching will be offered for $5, along with complimentary food from some of CH Projects' restaurants. [EaterWire]

CHULA VISTAMmm-yoso wonders what's up with El Charco, which is currently closed for remodel after being open for less than a year. The shop, at 1310 Third Ave., served pretty great Mexico City-style tacos. [mmm-yoso]
