Talk about a serious nail-biter; with less that 24 hours left until the conclusion of their Kickstarter campaign, The Heart and Trotter is 84% of the way to their $50,000 goal. The whole animal butchery is still eyeing the North Park neighborhood for a brick and mortar shop and co-founder Trey Nichols says that "Once the Kickstarter project is fully funded, we will be able to put pen to paper in a lease. We are excited that things have started to come to fruition to move into North Park." In the meantime, The Heart & Trotter plans to sell meat CSA packages and is scheduled to do a butchering demo at the San Diego Public Market for Slow Food Urban San Diego's Good Food Community Fair and an event with Green Flash Brewing Co. at Carnitas' Snack Shack during Beer Week.
